VERAPAT PARIYAWONG






Verapat Pariyawong is a recognised Thai lawyer and public policy advisor. 

He currently represents a group of Thai retail investors in legal actions against STARK Corporation and relevant parties in a prominent consumer class action motion, involving punitive damages of over THB 27 Billion, the largest of its kind in Thailand's history.

In addition to acting as VLA's lead counsel, Verapat also serves as the Advisor to the Parliamentary Representatives Standing Committee on Monetary, Finance, Banking and Financial Institutions as well as on Law, Justice System and Human Rights. He previously served as Special Counsel to the Deputy Prime Minister and Honorary Advisor to Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand.  

Verapat has been teaching at the University of London SOAS since 2015, offering classes on Thai law and politics and having spent over 9 years based in London. He also briefed parliamentarians, diplomats, officers of international organisations, multinational corporations and the media on subjects relating to Thailand offering analysis and insights on complex legal and political issues of public interests.

He holds a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School where he was also a Fulbright Scholar.
